Bob Segave has announced that women's soccer head coach
Bobby McColl has resigned from his position and the College will immediately begin a national search for its next head coach.
"Bobby will be greatly missed as a coach and a friend," said Segave. "He has done a tremendous job building the women's soccer program over the past three years and we are grateful for his service and dedication to Roberts Wesleyan."
Over his three years with the Redhawks, McColl went 35-20-5 to finish his tenure with a .625 winning percentage. This past fall, he guided the program to the NCAA tournament after advancing to the East Coast Conference championship game.
Segave has named
Roger Groome ('02) as the interim head coach. The alum was a standout for the men's soccer program, helping the team reach the NAIA tournament three times.
At the international level, Groome played for the Trinidad and Tobago U20 and U23 national teams.
Groome brings a successful coaching resume to the Redhawks as he has coached for the Empire Soccer Club, Rochester Junior Rhinos, Western New York Olympic Development Program, and Charlotte Eagles Soccer Club.
