West Babylon, N.Y. – The East Coast Conference has released the 2017 Preseason Poll and the coaches of the conference have predicted the Roberts Wesleyan volleyball team to finish seventh in the conference standings.
The Redhawks totaled 20 points in the poll sitting ahead of Mercy College, who holds the No. 8 spot. Last season Roberts posted a 9-15 overall record with a 6-8 record in the ECC.
NYIT sits atop the poll with 60 points and four of the eight first place votes. Daemen and Bridgeport fill out the top three spots in the poll and each earned first place votes.
The team this year will feature eight new faces, which includes seven freshmen and one sophomore.
The Redhawks kick off the season on September 1 against Clarion University at the Asics Crimson Hawk Invitational in Indiana, Pa. The home-opener is slated for September 13 at 7 p.m. against Le Moyne.
