INDIANAPOLIS – A record-breaking season for the Roberts Wesleyan University diving program came to an end at the NCAA Division II Championships in Indianapolis on Tuesday.
Three Redhawks –
Emma Dicob,
Sidney Simmons and
William Rugaber – qualified to travel to Indianapolis but were unable to advance to the finals.
Simmons, a sophomore, placed 27
th in the women's 1-meter with a score of 198.8 for six dives and 37
th in the 3-meter with a six-dive total of 181.5.
Dicob, a junior, finished 39
th in the 1-meter (170.5) and 33
rd in the 3-meter (187.65).
Rugaber, a senior, placed 36
th in the men's 1-meter (146.15).
Simmons and Dicob were competing at the NCAA meet for the second time while Rugaber was a first-time qualifier.
Each of the divers set school records this season. Rugaber owns the top marks for men in the 1-meter and 3-meter for both six and 11 dives, Dicob has the women's record in the 3-meter for both six and 11 dives and Simmons owns the women's 1-meter mark for six dives.
