Roberts Wesleyan Redhawks

Freshman Austin Melvin vaulted his way to a first-place finish with a school-record performance at the Brockport Welcome Back Rust Buster Invitational Friday night. He jumped into the competition at 15' 1" and cleared that bar on his first attempt to tie his PR but he wasn't done. He cleared the next four heights with one jump each before his first miss of the night at 16' 7 ¼". He hit his second attempt for his final result and a new school record for indoor pole vault at Roberts. He finished first overall with a field of 34 jumpers.
