Raiders Closeout Regular Season With a Win

PITTSBURGH, Pa (October 28, 2011) – The Men's Soccer team defeated the Point Park Pioneers 2-0 this afternoon at Cupples Stadium near downtown Pittsburgh.

The Raiders got on the board early when Johnny Lobene shot one to the back of the net in the 11th minute, scoring his fourth goal of the season. Donovan Wilson had the assist.

In the second half, Dominic Coco added the second goal of the game in the 62nd minute from a pass from Brent Owens to make the score 2-0. The goal is Coco's eighth of the season.

Michael Scavone had four saves on the day, including a save on a penalty kick attempt. Scavone finishes his freshman season with four shut-outs for the Raiders.

The Raiders improve to 8-9-1 overall and 6-4 in the American Mideast.

The Raiders will play Houghton College on Friday in the conference tournament in Pittsburgh.
