ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 4, 2011) - The Walsh University Cavaliers defeated the Men's Soccer team 2-1 this afternoon. Ben Truax scored both goals for the visitors.
In the 35th minute, the Cavaliers got on the board first when Matt Bly fed a pass to Truax, who beat Raiders goalkeeper
Michael Scavone.
The Raiders would respond in the second half off the foot of
Stephen Stewart. The freshman blasted home a shot from 20 yards out to level the game 1-1.
With eight minutes to play, Truax struck again with when he scored in traffic inside the 6-yard box to score the game winner.
With the win, the Cavaliers improve to 9-1-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the conference.
The Raiders fall to 6-5-1 overall and 4-1-0 in the conference.
The team is back in action on Friday night when they host Alfred University at 7pm.
