ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 7, 2011) – The Men's Soccer team fell 1-0 to the Alfred University Saxons this evening at home.
 
The Raiders pressured the Saxons defensive third most of the first half, but were unable to find theback of the net.

Brandon Conley sent in a screaming shot just high over the crossbar in the 25th minute for the Raiders. The team managed two shots on goal in the first half hour, but was unable to give the Saxons goalkeeper Elliot Thorpe a challenge.
 
Eric Deemer scored for the Saxons in the 33rd minute when he found himself in space and lobbed the ball of Raiders goalkeeper Michael Scavone who was off his line.  
 
Johnny Lobene had the first chance of the second half for the Raiders, blasting a shot on the left side from 10 yards out, but Thorpe was there for the save.
 
The Saxons nearly doubled their lead in the 72nd minutes when Jeffery Thomas put a header inches wide of the right post.

Donovan Willson and MAtthew Hohler finished the game with 3 shots and 2 shots on goal for the Raiders.

The loss put the Raiders back at .500 with a 6-6-1 overal record.

The team is back in action next Friday when they travel west to face Daemen College  in Amherst, N.Y. with a 7pm kickoff.
