The women's tennis team started out their spring season with an 8-1 victory over Le Moyne College.
The Raiders swept the first five singles matches and all three double matches. Senior Kristen Hemingway won at first singles defeating Caroline Tisdell 6-2, 6-1. Senior Meghan Wheeler went on to win at second singles 6-2, 6-2 over Rebecca Black. Dina Obukhova won at third singles defeating Kristine Kenney 6-2, 6-2. At fourth and fifth singles, Maria Jimenez and Meg Kelly both posted 6-0, 6-1 victories over Elizabeth Rhode and Megan Andolina. The Dolphin's lone win came at sixth singles as Kelly Falconer defeated Lauren Schaertel in a hard fought three set victory, 2-6, 6-1, and 4-6.
In double action, the Raiders swept as Hemmingway and Wheeler defeated Tisdell and Black 8-3 in first doubles. In second doubles, Obukhova and Jimenez defeated Andolina and Rhode 8-4 and in third doubles Kelly and Schaertel defeated Kenney and Margaret Reagan 8-3.
The Raiders improve to 8-0 on the year and are back in action on March 13 as they travel to take on NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure University.
