The women's tennis team responded with a 9-0 victory against Carlow University after tough 5-4 loss against Walsh University last week.
The Lady Raiders started the match by sweeping all three double matches. Seniors Kristen Hemmingway and Meghan Wheeler defeated Carly Burns and Camille Scarcella 8-1 in first doubles. In second doubles, Dina Obukhova and Maria Jimenez defeated Sarah Scholsser and Samantha Stroyne 8-0. In third doubles, seniors Morgan and Samantha Monaghan defeated Amanda Capatolla and Tiffany Tress 8-1.
The Raiders continued where they left off in singles competition as the Raiders didn't lose a game until sixth singles. In first singles, Kristen Hemmingway defeated Carly Burns 6-0, 6-0. Meghan Wheeler kept her undefeated singles record intact with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Camille Scarcella in second singles. In third singles Dina Obukhova defeated Scholsser 6-0, 6-0. Maria Jimenez and Meg Kelly won at fourth and fifth singles with 6-0, 6-0 victories over Stroyne and Capatolla. In sixth singles, Kaylee Eamer defeated Tiffany Tress 6-3, 6-0.
The Raiders improve to 10-2 overall and 1-1 in American Mideast Conference play. The Raiders are back in action on Thursday, April 7 at SUNY Geneseo. The match is scheduled for a 3:30pm start.
