Women's Tennis Advances to Final

The women's tennis team advances to the final of the American Mideast Conference tournament with a 5-4 victory over Cedarville University. The Raiders came out slow and lost two out of three doubles matches before winning four out of six singles matches to pull out the victory.

In doubles action, Joy Kellogg and Brooke Johnson defeated Kristen Hemmingway and Meghan Wheeler 8-5 in first doubles.  At second doubles, Joy Dice and Melissa Stolzfus defeated Dina Obukhova and Maria Jimenez 8-2 at second doubles.  Meg Kelly and Kaylee Eamer picked up the lone point for the Raiders in third doubles defeating Emma Rahn and Lyndsay Stine 8-3.

In singles action, the Raiders won four out of six matches. At first singles, Kristen Hemmingway won 6-4, 6-3 defeating Joy Kellogg.  Meghan Wheeler defeated Brooke Johnson 6-0, 6-1 in second singles.  At third singles, Joy Dice defeated Dina Obukhova 6-1, 7-6.  Maria Jimenez and Meg Kelly won at fourth and fifth singles.  Jimenez defeated Melissa Stolzfus 6-4, 6-3 and Kelly defeating Emma Rahn 6-0, 6-1.  At sixth singles, Lyndsay Stine defeated Lauren Schaertel 6-2, 6-2.

The Raiders improve to 15-3 and advance to the AMC Final against Walsh University.  The match is scheduled for 1:00pm on the campus of Cedarville University.
