Men's Soccer Visits Queens, Bridgeport This Weekend

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 11, 2012)  - The Men's Soccer team faces Queens College and the University of Bridgeport this weekend in East Coast Conference action.

SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (5-7-0/2-3-0 ECC)
The Redhawks picked up to conference wins (their first of the season) last weekend with a 2-1 overtime win at Dowling College last Friday before earning a 3-2 win at Molloy College. The team spread the wealth around last weekend with all five goals coming from five different scorers.
 
Sophomore forward Michael Cunningham has been stellar for the Redhawks with 17 points (7 goals, 3 assists) this season. Cunningham has already eclipsed his points total from a year ago (14) and has scored one more goals this season than he had all of last year.
 
SCOUTING QUEENS (6-3-3/3-1-2 ECC)
Queens has struggled to find their rhythm as of late as they have a win, a loss, and a draw in their last three games.
 
The Knights are led by senior forward Danny Stoker with 14 points (5 goals, 4 assists) this season.
 
In goal, Sean Geoghegan has a solid 1.26 goals against average while making 42 saves in addition to earning three shutouts.
 
SCOUTING BRIDGEPORT (7-6-0/5-1-0 ECC)
The Purple Knights have been streaky this season to say the least. The team started out the season with four losses before churning out seven wins. Bridgeport how now lost two straight.
 
The Purple Knights have eight different goal scorers with junior midfielder Andreas Blanke leading the way with four goals. Sophomore forward Matt Garcia is right behind with three goals this season.
 
Bridgeport has been difficult to score against as the team has a 1.21 goals against average. Freshman goalkeeper Augustin Prados has 49 saves and a .766 goals against average to go along with three shutouts.
 
UP NEXT
The Redhawks have two games remaining in the regular season with both being played at home. The team hosts St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday, Oct. 20 and the University of the District of Columbia on Sunday, Oct. 28.
