Women's Tennis Closes Out Fall Schedule with Win Over Daemen

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 16, 2012) – The Women's Tennis team closed out the fall portion of their schedule with a 9-0 win over Daemen College this afternoon.

The Redhawks were led by Dina Obukhova, who shutout Daemen's Aman Shamaa 6-0, 6-0 after teaming up with Maria Jimenez for an 8-1 win over the Wildcats' Shaylah Iverson and Ashley Frost.

Tina Miller picked up a win at first singles by defeating Iverson 6-0, 6-2. Miller also won at second doubles with Meg Kelly by taking down Daemen's Aman Shamaa and Cassondra Sheriff.

With the win, the Redhawks close out the fall with an 8-6 record after having won three straight matches.

Daemen, which is a first-year program, falls to 0-9 on the season.

Roberts Wesleyan will being the spring slate with matches against Edinboro (Pa.) on Mar. 8 and Mercyhurst (Pa.) on Mar. 9 in Erie, Pa.
