Men's Soccer Holds To Win 3-2 Over Molloy

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. (October 7, 2012) – The Men's Soccer team held on for a 3-2 win on the road against Molloy College this afternoon.

With the win, the Redhawks have now won two straight East Coast Conference games with both coming on the road.

The visitors would go up 2-0 midway through the first half when Brandon Bianchi and Brent Owens scored just ten minutes apart with Bianchi scoring in the 23rd minute and Owens in the 32nd minute.

In the second half, the Lions would get on the board when Paul Ferrandino sent one home in the 48th minute to make it a 2-1 game.

Eight minutes later, Johnny Lobene would score his first goal of the season to give Roberts Wesleyan a 3-1 lead with a little more than 30 minutes remaining.

Molloy would make it interesting when Jovani Ramos beat Michael Scavone to cut the lead to one, but the Redhawks would hold their lead to pick up the fifth win of the season. In all, Scavone made eight saves as Molloy outshot the Redhawks 27 to 13.

The win puts the Redhawks overall record at 5-7 and 2-3 in the ECC.

The Redhawks are off until next weekend when the travel to Queens College on Friday, October 12 and the University of Bridgeport on Sunday, October 14.
