KISSIMMEE, Fla. (November 27, 2012) - The Men's Soccer team takes on California Baptist University, the reigning NCCAA national champions, on Wednesday at noon in the first round of the NCCAA Men's Soccer National Championship.
The Redhawks enter the tournament as the seventh-seed while the Lancers are the second-seed in addition to being the lone at-large qualifier in the eight team tournament.
The match-up is the first of four first round games on Wednesday.
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (10-8-1/4-4-1 ECC)
The Redhawks enter the NCCAA National Championship tournament on a high note, having won four straight and have lost just once in their last nine games. In the stretch, Roberts Wesleyan has out-scored their opponents 21 to 10.
Michael Cunningham leads the team with 23 points (9 goals, 5 assists) and had a .455 shots on goal percentage. Classmate
Stephen Stewart has piled up the points as of late and now has 14 points (4 goals, 6 assists). Over the last three games, Stewart has notched three assists and a goal to help his team lift the NCCAA East Region crown.

Michael Scavone has allowed just two goals over the last four games and has a .755 save percentage and a 1.32 goals against average.
SCOUTING CALIFORNIA BAPTIST (13-5-2/10-3-1 Pac West)
The Lancers, which are provisional members of the NCAA Division II, enter the competitive tournament as the lone at-large team. California Baptist had played their way to the West Region final before losing to Fresno Pacific University, 3-1.
Offensively, California Baptist is led by Michael Salazar and Jonathan Fausto. Both players have 16 points with Salazar leading the team with six goals and Fausto leading with six assists.
Alex Anderson is right behind with 15 points (6 goals, 3 assists) while starting all 19 games he has appeared in.
The Lancer's primary goalkeeper is Joey Pacheco as he has appeared and started in 13 games. The junior has five shutouts to his credit while allowing an average of just 0.95 goals per game. Back-up 'keeper Ian Clark is just as impressive with a 0.57 goals against average and has three shut-outs in seven starts.

If the Redhawks win, they will play the winner of the #3 Union (Tenn.) University/#6 Grace (Ind.) College game on Thursday at 2pm. If the Redhawks lose the first round game, then will play the loser of that game.
