EDINBORO, Pa. (March 24, 2012) – The Women's Lacrosse team lost to Edinboro State University this afternoon, 15-6.
The Raiders, facing their first NCAA Division II opponent in program history, dug themselves in a hole early by allowing five unanswered goals to start the game. The Raiders would finally get on the board nine minutes into the game after junior
Alison Kendall notched her 18
th goal of the season to make it 5-1.
The Scots would then score six of the next seven goals to distance themselves from the visitors.
There were some bright spots in the game for the Raiders as Kendall scored a game-high five goals off of just eight shots. The attacker has now earned team-best 25 points (22 goals, 3 assists).
Fellow junior,
Vanessa Sell added a goal with less than two minutes into the second half and now has 18 goals in 2012.
In goal,
Stephanie McClure made a game-high 12 saves between the posts for the Raiders.
The loss puts the Raiders at 2-4 on the season and will host Monroe Community College on Tuesday, March 27 at 4pm.
