Men's Soccer Host Daemen Tonight in Midweek Matchup

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 12, 2012) – After a week off, the Men's Soccer team hosts Daemen College in a non-conference match-up tonight at 7pm.

The Redhawks are well rested after picking up their first win of the season, a 3-0 victory over former American Mideast Conference rivals Point Park (Pa.) University.

Both teams are very familiar with each other as both had been long-time members of the NAIA and the American Mideast Conference. This past summer, the Wildcats learned that they would be joining Roberts Wesleyan in the NCAA Division II transition and will become members of the East Coast Conference in 2013-2014.

SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (1-2-0/0-0-0 ECC)
The Redhawks shut-out Point Park last week with goals coming from Matthew Hohler, Ricky DiPasquale, and Michael Cunningham.

Goalkeeper Michael Scavone earned his first clean sheet of the year after making three saves in the game.

SCOUTING DAEMEN (0-2-0/0-0-0 Independent)
The Wildcats, who are members of the USCAA during their transition from the NAIA to the NCAA have found goals hard to come by.

In their two losses to the University of Maine-Ft. Kent and the University of Rio Grande (Ohio), Daemen has been outscored 7-0, including a 6-0 defeated to NAIA 5th-ranked Rio Grande.

In goal, Matt Daddario (Amherst, N.Y.) has been solid, making an astounding 35 saves in two games.

UP NEXT
The Redhawks travel to Ohio to take on an undefeated Cedarville University side this Saturday at 7pm.
