ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 15, 2012) – The Men's Soccer team visits Cedarville (Ohio) University this evening to take on an undefeated Yellowjackets side in non-conference action.
Both teams are familiar to each other as they used to meet regularly prior to 2011 when both schools were members of the NAIA's American Mideast Conference.
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (2-2-0/0-0-0 ECC)
The Redhawks come into the game having won two straight at home against former American Mideast Conference foes Point Park (Pa.) University and Daemen College. Both games resulted in shutouts for Roberts Wesleyan.
Against Daemen,
Stephen Stewart scored his first goal of the season to lift the Redhawks in a 1-0 affair.
SCOUTING CEDARVILLE (6-0-0/0-0-0 GMAC)
Cedarville has been off to a hot start in 2012, reeling off six straight wins and climbing to #6 ranking in the NCAA Division II Midwest Region poll.
Justin Santoro (Cranberry Township, Pa.) leads the Yellowjackets with three goals this season, including a two-goal outburst against Walsh (Ohio) University this past Tuesday.
Goalkeeper Ethan Dewhurst (Springfield, Ohio) has played the majority of the season between the pipes, making five saves in five appearances for Cedarville.
