Men's Soccer: Redhawks Host Point Park This Afternoon

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 5, 2012) – The Men's Soccer team hosts former NAIA and American Mideast Conference rivals, Point Park University at 4:30pm this afternoon.
 
Both the Redhawks and visiting Pioneers are searching for their first win of the season.
 
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (0-2-0/0-0-0 ECC)
The Redhawks are coming into the game having dropped two games at Nyack College's Warrior Invitational. The team fell to the hosts 3-1 and then suffered a devastating 3-2 loss in overtime to Bloomsburg (Pa.) University.
 
Freshman midfielder Brandon Bianchi scored all three goals for Roberts Wesleyan, earning him East Coast Conference Rookie of the week honors. In the Bloomsburg game, both of Bianchi's goals were game-tying goals.
 
SCOUTING POINT PARK (0-1-0/0-0-0 KIAC)
Point Park, who are now members of the NAIA's Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, lost their season opener on the road to West Virginia Tech by the score of 3-1 this past week.
 
The Pioneers return their top two points earners from a season ago. Lucas Silva and Francis Tabi each accumulated 20 points in 2011 with Silva notching 10 goals and Tabi scoring nine goals and adding two assists.
 
UP NEXT
The Redhawks are off until next Wednesday when they host future East Coast Conference foes, Daemen College at 7pm.
