Men's Soccer Defeats Houghton, 2-0

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 1, 2013) – The Men's Soccer team defeated Houghton College, 2-0, this evening in non-conference action.

With the win, the Redhawks have now won two straight since going winless in their first six games.

Freshman Taiwo Aderounmu opened up the scoring in the 11th minute when he managed to chip his shot over the Highlanders' goalkeeper Jacob Dunnett.

Johnny Lobene secured the win by scoring in the 82nd minute when he found himself in open space in front of the goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Florian Witte earned the shutout between the pipes after making several crucial stops for the Redhawks. In all Witte recorded five saves in the game.

The win improves Roberts Wesleyan to 2-5-1 overall as Houghton falls to 7-1-1.

The team resumes East Coast Conference play when they travel to take on #2 LIU Post this Friday at 2:30pm.
