Rochester, N.Y. (September 18, 2013) – Déjà vu for Redhawk fans as men's Soccer falls to Bridgeport Purple Knights 2 – 0 following the same result for the women's team earlier this evening. This was the first of 2 home games this weekend for Roberts.
The Redhawks outshot the Purple Knights 15 to 14 but could not capitalize on several key opportunities. Roberts forward
Johnny Lobene  took 3 shots and was key in creating opportunities. Â
Stephen Stewart also stood out for the Redhawks taking 4 shots and testing Bridgeport's goalie.
Roberts had several of missed opportunities and scrambles in Bridgeport's 6 yard box. Â Bridgeport's first goal came in the 28
th minute off of a free kick just outside the 18 yard box. Â Their second goal was a header in the box off of a lofting cross.
The game was evenly matched, the play was highly competitive. Both Roberts and Bridgeport racked up some foul calls. Roberts had a total of 10 calls against them, Bridgeport received 6.
The Redhawks hope to put this loss behind them as they take on Dowling this Sunday at 1pm at home.
