ROCHESTER, N.Y. (October 9, 2013) – The Men's Soccer team fell this evening to the College of Saint Rose, 5-1, in non-conference action.

The visiting Golden Knights got on the board first in the 12th minute when Massimo Smiroldo scored his first goal of the season after dribbling into the 18-yard box before slotting his shot past Florian Witte.

Near the end of the half, Stephen Stewart tied the game in the 44th minute after blasting a 25-yard shot to the inside of the left post off of a re-start from Michael Cunningham.

After going into the locker room tied 1-1, Saint Rose scored two goals in the first five minutes of the second half to pull away from the Redhawks.

Roberts Wesleyan managed to put together several good looks, but were unable to convert on them as they fall to 2-8-1 overall.

Despite the lop-sided score, the Redhawks outshot Saint Rose 18 to 15 and had six corner kicks to the Golden Knights' four.

Saint Rose's goalkeeper Colan Balkwell was nearly perfect in the game, making nine saves for the visitors.

The team now has time to re-group as they are off until Friday, Oct. 18 when they host the University of Bridgeport at 7pm.
