Rochester, N.Y. ( November 26, 2013) – Women's Basketball defeated Daemen College 79-69 this evening in their first conference match up.
The Redhawks started out with a quick three pointer by Junior guard
Ashley Cianfriglia. They held the lead throughout the match. Cianfriglia was 3 for 5 from the three point line and totaled 16 points. She also had 8 assists.
Sophomore forward
Samantha Courtney led the Redhawks totaling 22 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks.
Chelsea Sanders a Junior Forward added to Roberts control of the game by adding 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Daemen kept the score close at firstf,but by the 13
th minute of the first half Roberts pulled away and didn't look back. The Redhawks capitalized on Daemen's mishaps scoring 24 points off turnovers. The Redhawks also showed their tenacity by scoring 13 points off second chances.
As a team, Roberts Shot 48.6% from the field and 35.7% from the three point line.
The win puts Roberts record at 2-1 and 1-0 in the ECC. The Redhawks take a break for Thanksgiving, but return the following week for the Wendy's Classic. Roberts Wesleyan College is set to host the tournament, follow @RWCREDHAWKS for game time information.
