HOUGHTON, N.Y. (November 7, 2013) – The Men's Soccer team closed out the 2013 season with a 2-0 loss on the road at Houghton College this evening.

Roberts Wesleyan, who had defeated the Highlanders earlier this season at home, struggled to breakdown an effective Houghton defense. In the game, the Redhawks managed to put three of their six shots on goal.

Houghton got on the board in the 11th minute when the Redhawks committed a defensive lapse after a cross into the box went of a defender, scoring an own goal.

After going into halftime up 1-0, the Highlanders scored the second goal of the game just 50 seconds into the second half when Paul Seddon scored his seventh goal of the season on a one-timed shot from the right side.

Freshman Malcolm Shaw provided the most opportunities in the game for the visitors as he mustered two shots on goal as his classmate Will Cornfield added another.

Overall, the Highlanders outshot Roberts Wesleyan 14 to 6 while putting six shots on frame.

The loss puts Roberts Wesleyan's record at 4-12-2 to end the season.
