ROCHESTER, N.Y. (November 7, 2013) – The Women's Basketball team opens the 2013-14 season at home on Saturday when they host Le Moyne College. Tip-off is scheduled for 2pm.

Admission to the game is just $3 at the door. All Roberts Wesleyan College/Northeastern Seminary faculty, staff, and students are free with a valid College ID.  Season Passes are available when you donate a minimum of $25 to the Redhawk Athletic Club.
 
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (0-0, 0-0 ECC)
Head coach Bob Segave has reason to be optimistic about the upcoming season as he returns several starters from last season. Among the returners is junior forward Marissa Sell. The East Coast Conference Preseason Player of the Year averaged a double-double last season with 13.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.
 
Other notable returners from last season include junior Ashley Cianfriglia and sophomore Samantha Courtney. Courtney averaged 7.9 points per game as a freshman while Cianfriglia shot 34.3% from three-point range.
 
In season openers, the Redhawks are 2-1 over the last three seasons while posting a 7-5 record at home in 2012-13.
 
SCOUTING LE MOYNE (0-0, 0-0 NE-10)
The Dolphins enter a new era as Gina Castelli begins her first season as head coach. She is just the fifth head coach in the program's history for Le Moyne.  She spent 22 years at Siena College, a Division I program, and finished with a 336-296 (.532) record. Castelli was the winningest coach in Siena's program history.
 
The Dolphins return their top three scorers from last season. Sophomore guard Maggie Brown led the team with 8.8 points per game. Junior forward Emily Greer averaged 8.7 and junior guard Alex Marple averaged 8.1 points.
 
Greer, who stands at 5'10" led Le Moyne with 6.5 rebounds per game in 2012-13.
 
UP NEXT
After a lengthy break, the Redhawks continue their home stand when they entertain Houghton College on Thursday, Nov. 21 for a 7pm game. Five days later, Roberts Wesleyan hosts their East Coast Conference opener when they take on Daemen College on Nov. 26 at 6pm.
