ROCHESTER, N.Y. (November 9, 2013) – The Women's Basketball team fell to Le Moyne College in their season opener, 77-52, this afternoon.
The visiting Dolphins used a quick 11-2 run to start the game before not looking back to pick up the win.
Le Moyne led from start to finish as Roberts Wesleyan struggled to keep pace with Le Moyne. As a team, Le Moyne shot 47.4% from beyond the arc after going 9 of 19. At the free-throw line, they were an impressive 8 of 9.
Newcomer
Chelsea Sanders led the Redhawks with 16 points after going 6 of 16 from the field. The transfer hit 3 of 6 attempts from three-point range while hauling in five rebounds and making two steals.
Junior forward
Marissa Sell earned the double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds despite going 4 of 12 in the field.
For Le Moyne, Alex Marple had a solid game with 21 points after going 7 of 12 from the field, 3 of 5 from long range, and a perfect 4 of 4 at the free-throw line.
Roberts Wesleyan has time to regroup as they are off until Nov. 21 when they host Houghton College at 7pm.
