BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (December 15, 2013) – The Women's Basketball team struggled in a 75-47 loss to LIU Post in East Coast Conference action this afternoon.

The visiting Redhawks, who defeated LIU Post in both meetings last season, never led in the game.

After trailing by 17 points mid-way through the first half, Roberts Wesleyan managed to cut the Pioneers' lead as they went into the locker room trailing just 36-24. However, in the second half, LIU Post was able to extend their lead for good with the Redhawks playing catch-up the rest of the game.

Sophomore guard Lakiah Huff was the only player to score in double-digits for Roberts Wesleyan as she put up 11 points after going 4 of 7 from the field.

Ashley Cianfriglia added eight points as Chelsea Sanders led the team in rebounding with a total of six boards.

For the Pioneers, who improved to 5-3 and 3-1 in the ECC, were led by Kiki Sears' 17 points after she shot 50% from the field.

The loss drops the Redhawks to 5-3 overall and 1-2 in the conference. They will re-group as they will make another two-game road trip to Long Island next weekend. On Friday, Dec. 20, the Redhawks will visit Queens College at 5pm before heading to Molloy College on Sunday, Dec. 22 at noon.
