Women's Basketball Handed Defeat at Molloy

Rockville Center, N.Y. (December 22, 2013)- Women's Basketball  lost their fourth consecutive road game this afternoon in conference play. Roberts fell to Molloy 71-90.

The first half was devastating for Roberts. Molloy's Alexia O'Connor sank three shots from long range before The Redhawks could get on the board. Roberts first points came from Lakiah Huff at 17:32 with a layup, she went on to score 9 points for the Redhawks. Roberts struggled throughout the half, shooting 26% from the field compared to Molloy's 54%.  The half ended 31- 59.

Roberts improved significantly in the second half, outscoring Molloy 40 – 31. This was not enough to overcome the deficit from the first half. Although Roberts suffered fewer turnovers than Molloy, Molloy's offense was more efficient scoring 20 points off turnovers.

Marissa Sell led the Redhawks with a double double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, she also had 3 steals. Other players scoring in the double figures for Roberts were, Chelsea Sanders , with 11 points, and Carneisha Henry with 10 points and 8 rebounds.

The loss drops Roberts record to 5-5 and 1-4 in the ECC

This was Robert's last game before a small break for the holidays.  They are on the road again, where they look to pick up a win at University at Buffalo Sunday January 12th at 2pm.
