HOUGHTON, N.Y. (February 19, 2013) – The Women's Basketball team led from start to finish as the Redhawks defeated the Highlanders, 67-51, in non-conference action this evening.
Senior guard
Marissa Bunce led the visitors with a 15-pont effort after going 5 of 10 from long range.
Both
Christina Healy and
Samantha Courtney came off the bench to each score 10 points for Roberts Wesleyan. Courtney blocked two shots in the game as Healy made a game-high three steals.
Overall, it was a team effort as the Redhawks saw a total of ten players score in second meeting between the two NCCAA East Region rivals this season.
The Redhawks shot the ball well, finishing the night with a 47.4% shooting percentage from the field and 46.7% from beyond the arc.
Houghton's Kristen Moose led the home team with a double-double after scoring 13 points and grabbing 14 rebounds.
The win improves Roberts Wesleyan's overall record to 12-12.
The Redhawks are back in action this Saturday when they host Queens College in East Coast Conference action at 2pm.
