SYRACUSE, N.Y. (February 23, 2013) – The Women's Lacrosse team fell to No.2-ranked Le Moyne College this afternoon, 16-3. The meeting was the first between the two programs.
Ali Fox,
Vanessa Sell, and
Loren Dunn all scored for the Redhawks, who managed to take 17 shots in the game.
In goal,
Victoria Link picked up her first loss of the season as Le Moyne pelted the goal with 13 shots in the first 20 minutes of the game. Link made three saves before
Stephanie McClure came in to make an additional four save.
Le Moyne was effective defensively, causing 14 of Roberts Wesleyan's 18 turnovers in the game.
The Dolphins, who were playing their season opener, was led by Kathleen Conese's four goals.
With the loss, the Redhawks fall to 2-1 on the early season.
Roberts Wesleyan is off until Saturday, Mar. 9 when the host Edinboro (Pa.) University at 4:30pm in their home opener.
