Women's Lacrosse Host No. 10 Dowling on Saturday

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 12, 2013) – The Women's Lacrosse team is set to host No. 10 Dowling College tomorrow afternoon for a 3pm conference game.
 
The meeting is the first between the two programs and the first time the Redhawks have ever hosted a nationally ranked team.
 
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (6-4/1-1 ECC)
The Redhawks are looking for the upset bid after having won their first-ever conference game last Saturday, a 16-10 triumph of the University of Bridgeport.
 
On offense, Loren Dunn leads Roberts Wesleyan with 39 points (38 goals, 1 assist). Junior Alison Kendall is right behind with 33 points (27 goals, 6 assists). Freshman Ali Fox currently leads the Redhawks with eight assists to go along with her 17 goals.
 
Senior goalkeeper Stephanie McClure has logged the majority of minutes for the Redhawks and is holding her opponents to less than 10 goals per game with a goals against average of 9.54.
 
SCOUTING DOWLING (7-2/1-1 ECC)
Dowling comes into the game ranked 10th in this week's IWCLA Coaches' Poll after defeating Molloy College, 11-8, this past Saturday in East Coast Conference action.
 
Sophomore Jackie Andersen leads the Golden Lions with 47 points (31 goals, 16 assists) through nine games this season. Nicole Moran, a senior, is second on the team with 41 points (28 goals, 13 assists).
 
As a team, the Golden Lions rank second in goals-per game with an average of 14.89.
 
In goal, senior Tine Fey is holding opponents to just 8.84 goals per game while holding a solid .526 saves percentage. Fey has started all nine games for Dowling. The senior also ranks fourth in the conference with a total of 82 saves.
 
UP NEXT
The Redhawks travel to take on St. Thomas Aquinas   College next Saturday for a 1pm game before visiting the top-ranked team in the nation, LIU Post, the following day.
 
On Thursday, Apr. 25, the team heads north when they visit SUNY Canton at 4pm.
 
Roberts Wesleyan then returns home to close out the season against Queens (Apr. 27) and Molloy (May 4).
