Women's Lacrosse Competitive in Loss to No. 10 Dowling

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 13, 2013) – The Women's Lacrosse team fell to No. 10 Dowling College, 14-8, this afternoon in East Coast Conference action.

After trailing 8-2 at intermission, the Redhawks played the nationally ranked Golden Lions close in the second half. For most of the period, the tream traded goals until Roberts Wesleyan reeled off three straight to cut the lead to 13-8.

Junior Alison Kendall led the Redhawks with four goals, including three from free-position attempts. Kendall also won three draw controls while picking up four groundballs.

Freshman Aliu Fox added two goals while Loren Dunn and Marissa Sell each scored once.

In goal, Stephanie McClure made 10 saves for the Redhawks after facing 33 shots on the day.

The loss drops the Redhawks to 6-5 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Roberts Wesleyan is off until Saturday when they visit St. Thomas Aquinas College for a 1pm game.
