Women's Lacrosse Set for Two Road Games This Weekend

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 19, 2013) – The Women's Lacrosse team is set for a two-game road trip this weekend. The Redhawks will travel to take on St. Thomas Aquinas College on Saturday at 11am and top-ranked LIU Post on Sunday at noon.
 
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (6-5/1-2 ECC)
The Redhawks are coming off a hard fought 14-8 loss to nationally ranked Dowling College on Saturday. Roberts Wesleyan fell behind 8-2 in the first half, but scored six goals in the second half to keep things close against the Golden Lions.
 
Loren Dunn continues her stellar debut season by ranking fourth in the East Coast Conference with 39 goals through 11 games this season. Dunn also leads the team with 40 points (39 goals, 1 assist).
 
Junior Alison Kendall currently leads Roberts Wesleyan with 13 caused turnovers while also leading the team with 34 draw controls. Ali Fox is second in both categories with 10 caused turnovers and 32 draw controls.
 
SCOUTING ST. THOMAS AQUINAS (9-3/1-3 ECC)
The Spartans have shot out to a solid 9-3 record after winning their first six games of the season. However, conference play has not been kind to St. Thomas Aquinas as their lone ECC win was a narrow 7-6 win against the University of Bridgeport.
 
Genevieve Stickney has been a force on offense for the Spartans by leading the team with 47 points (45 goals, 2 assists). Margaret Sharp is right behind with 44 points (25 goals, 19 assists).
 
In goal, Kaitlyn Lonergan has been solid this season with a 9.57 goals against average while holding a .478 saves percentage.
 
SCOUTING LIU POST (12-0/3-0 ECC)
The defending national champions are currently riding a 15-game winning streak with their last loss being a 10-9 decision against Dowling on May 5, 2012.
 
Junior Jackie Sileo and senior Ashley Olen lead the Pioneers on offense. Sileo leads LIU Post with 111 points (29 goals, 82 assists) as Olen is her primary target as the senior leads the team with 65 goals.
 
Senior goalkeeper Dominique Mosca has played the majority of the season between the pipes for LIU Post this season. Mosca has held her opponents to just 7.40 goals per game while holding a .480 saves percentage.
 
UP NEXT
Roberts Wesleyan travels to SUNY Canton for a non-conference game on Apr. 25 beofre closing out the season at home with games against Queens College on Saturday, Apr. 27 and Molloy College the following Saturday.
