ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 27, 2013) – The Women's Lacrosse dropped an 18-8 decision to the visiting Queen's College Knights this afternoon in East Coast Conference action.
The Redhawks conceded five goals to the Knights before getting on the board with a goal from team-leading freshman
Loren Dunn mid-way through the first half. The home team then gave up another five consecutive goals before
Ali Fox stopped the bleeding with a goal at the 24:14 mark in the second half.
Roberts Wesleyan then scored four straight goals after trailing 15-3, with three goals coming from sophomore
Marissa Sell to make it a 15-7 game with five minutes remaining.
Queens, however, reeled off three more goals to seal the win for the visitors.
Despite the opportunities, the Redhawks were unable to convert their free-position attempts, finishing the game 1 of 7. The Knights managed to convert 3 of 6 free-position attempts.
Stephanie McClure played all 60 minutes in front of the net for Roberts Wesleyan, making 14 saves in the game.
The loss drops the Redhawks to 7-8 overall and 1-5 conference play.
Roberts Wesleyan closes out the season next Saturday when they host Molloy College at 11am.
