Women's Tennis Edges RIT, 5-4

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (April 3, 2013) – The Women's Tennis team edged the Rochester Institute of Technology, 5-4, yesterday afternoon in non-conference action.

After dropping two of three doubles matches, the Redhawks won four of the six singles matches to take the victory.

Kaitlynn Zaffuto was a double winner by teaming up with Emily Linhart at third doubles to defeat the Tigers' Lindsay Smith and Kelsie Redburn, 8-3. At fifth single, Zaffuto downed Brooke Kaylor 7-5, 6-1.

At sixth singles, Julia Vitale won a close match for the visitors by winning 6-4, 7-6 against Smith.

The win improves Roberts Wesleyan to 10-8 on the year as they now prepare to visit SUNY Geneseo this Friday for a 3:30pm match.
