ROCHESTER, N.Y. (May 2, 2013) – The Women's Lacrosse team closes out the 2013 season at home this Saturday when they host the Lions of Molloy College at 11am.
Before the game, the team will recognize the four seniors on the roster in a special pre-game ceremony. Seniors
Lindsay Kendall,
Stephanie McClure,
Lauren Mueller, and
Vanessa Sell will be honored.
SCOUTING ROBERTS WESLEYAN (7-8, 1-5 ECC)
The Redhawks are hoping to send their seniors out with a win after having dropped four of their last five games. In their last outing, the Redhawks fell to Queens College, 18-8, at home last Saturday.
Coming into the final game of the year,
Loren Dunn has made a name for herself within the East Coast Conference. In the conference, the freshman ranks second in shots (111), second in shots on goal (88), fourth in goals (51), and ninth in the in points (52).
Junior
Alison Kendall continues to headline the program record book after two seasons. The junior has a career total 71 points while also leading the program with 62 career goals. She also has 101 shots on goal.
SCOUTING MOLLOY (8-8, 3-3 ECC)
Molloy comes into today's game after losing 17-6 to top-ranked and undefeated LIU Post last week. The Lions have not put together back-to-back wins since defeating Mercy on Mar. 27 at home.
The Lions have a balanced attack with team points leader Alexa Toscano pacing Molloy with 50 points (13 goals, 37 assists). Fellow senior Kaitlynn Kelly has 48 points (39 goals, 9 assists).
Another senior, Danielle Clesi, has a team-high 43 draw controls through 16 games this season. She also leads the Lions with 30 caused turnovers.
Goalkeeper Caroline Winter, a freshman, has logged the majority of minutes for Molloy. Winters has a .462 saves percentage and a 10.01 goals against average.
