ROCHESTER, N.Y. (May 6, 2013) – The Women's Tennis team is making their first appearance in the NCCAA National Championships since 2010-2011 season. The tournament is held in Mobile, Ala, and runs from May 7-10.
In this year's tournament, the Redhawks will compete against Indiana Wesleyan University, Fresno Pacific (Calif.) University, and Southern Nazarene (Okla.) University in Pool A action.
Roberts Wesleyan opens the tournament Tuesday morning at 8:30am when they square-off with Fresno Pacific, the West Region's champion. At 2:30pm the same day, the Redhawks will take on Southern Nazarene, who is the Central Region's representative.
On Wednesday, the team will compete against the Mid-West Region's Indiana Wesleyan in the third and final pool play match at 9am.
Should the Redhawks advance out of the first round; the semifinals will be held the following day at 9am. On Friday, the championship matches are also scheduled for a 9am start.
Roberts Wesleyan are the East Region's automatic qualifier after having downed Geneva (Pa.) College, 5-0, and Malone (Ohio) University, 5-4, in a round-robin tournament last weekend.
This is just the second trip to the competitive tournament for the Redhawks, who finished the year with a 13-10 overall record and finished fourth in the East Coast Conference standings with a 4-3 record.
