Women's Tennis Split Matches at Home

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (September 14, 2013) – The Women's Tennis team split a pair of East Coast Conference matches over the weekend.

On Friday, the Redhawks picked up a 6-3 win over LIU Post before falling 9-0 to New York Institute of Technology.

In the win, Fatima Quattara won a third singles by defeating the Pioneers' Luara Harwell 6-0, 6-1. The newcomer also teamed up with Tina Miller at first double to earn a narrow 9-7 (7-5) win over Heena Kewalramani and Lucie Chrastecka.

In the loss, Roberts Wesleyan's most competitive match was at first double as Miller and Quattara fell to Ci Sanchez Gonzalez and Sara Burinato 8-3.

The home loss to the Bears marked the Redhawks' first loss of the season as their record now stands at 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the ECC.

The team is back in action on Tuesday, Sep. 17 when they host Daemen College for a conference match-up at 4pm.
