Syracuse, N.Y. (November 29, 2014) – The women's Basketball team dropped to Le Moyne College 50-66 this afternoon in non-conference play.  

The game was kept close by the Redhawks in the first half. The play was competitive as there were a total of five lead changes and four ties.  With eight minutes to go, Roberts Wesleyan led by six with a quick layup by Marissa Sell, assisted by Samantha Courtney.   Courtney added nine points and six rebounds for the Redhaws. Le Moyne chipped away at the lead, eventually tying the Redhawks at 23. Then, with seconds left, a good three pointer put Le Moyne up 26 to 23 at the end of the half.

Le Moyne took off in the second half, Roberts Wesleyan was unable to break even or take the lead.  The Redhawks worked hard to get back in the game, but shooting at just 32.8% from the field and 14.3% from outside the arc made this difficult.  The Rehawks were 76.9% from the line. The game ended with Le Moyne holding a double digit lead in the last four minutes of play.

Marissa Sell led the game in points and rebounds; she posted a double double with 24 points and 11 rebounds. She was also a perfect four of four at the line.  Classmate Ashley Cianfriglia also helped out with six rebounds and a game high eight assists.

The loss drops Roberts Wesleyan to 1- 1.

The Redhawks will play in the Wendy's College Classic starting this Tuesday December 2^nd; time and location are TBD.
