Women's Basketball Dominates Against Bridgeport

Rochester, N.Y. (February 21, 2014)- The Women's Basketball team held an early and definitive lead over the Bridgeport Knights in conference action this eveing. The Redhawks won 69 -46

Within the starting seconds of the game, senior Chelsea Sanders put Roberts on the board. She would go on to score a game high 17 points. She also added 7 rebounds.  Sanders is currently tied for 5th in the ECC for points per game, with an average of 15.3.

Roberts never allowed Bridgeport much of a chance the first hald looked a bismal for Bridgeport  with only 16 points to Roberts 30.

Samantha Courtney  fell short of a double double but added 10 points and 9 rebouds for the Redhawks, she lead her team in rebounds.

Junior Marissa Sell also stood out for Roberts posting 16 points. Classmate Jenna Johnson went 2-3 from beyond the arc, she would end the game with 7 points.  Ashley Cianfriglia lead her with 4 assists for Roberts.


The largest lead for Roberts came with just under a minute thirty to go, Ashley Smith knocked down a three to put roberts in the lead by a heafty 29 points.

Bridgeport was unable to gain the lead or tie even once.

The win puts the Redhawks at 12-11 and 8-9 in the ECC.

Roberts has a quick turn around as they face Dowing College at home  tomorrow February 22 at 2pm.
