Women's Lacrosse Edges Notre Dame College

Rochester, N.Y. (February 22, 2014) - The Women's Lacrosse team cinched a close win over Notre Dame College this afternoon in their first home game of the season. The Redhawks won 12 - 11.
The game started out scoreless in the first 10 minutes of play, with Notre Dame College dominating the play winning the majority of Draw controls. Kelsey Covel scored the first goal for Roberts Assisted by Cassley Jackowski. Jackowski would also score for Roberts, ending the game with 1 goal and 1 assist.
Covel went on to go 2-2 for Free possession shots and ended with 3 goals and 1 assist.
NDC rallied in the second half and actually outscored Roberts, but the deficit built by Roberts in the first half was too much to overcome. The Redhawks would hold the lead throughout the entire game.
Defensively Goalie Victoria Link was busy notching 15 saves to keep Roberts ahead.
Senior Allison Kendall Lead the Redhawks with 4 goals 2 coming from free possession shots she also won 3 of Roberts 10 Draw Controls and won 5 ground balls for the Redhawks.
Loren Dunn also had 2 goals for Roberts. Other goals came from Ali Fox and Savannah Tucker
The win puts Roberts at 2 - 2 They play at home this week against Le Moyne College Wednesday February 26th at 4pm.
