ROCHESTER, N.Y. (February 8, 2014) – Senior forward
Chelsea Sanders scored a game-high 23 points as the Women's Basketball team downed Molloy College 67-52.
Sanders went 7 of 12 from the field and 9 of 15 at the free-throw line to lead the Redhawks while also notching a pair of steals.
The Redhawks poured it on late in the game, leading as much as 22 points with just two minutes remaining in the game.
The win also gives Roberts Wesleyan the split against the Lions as Molloy downed the Redhawks earlier in the season.
Joining Sanders in double-figures was
Marissa Sell, who scored 18 points to go along with 14 rebounds.
Samantha Courtney scored 10 points while hauling in nine boards.
As a team, the Redhawks shot 41.7% from the field despite shooting just 14.3% from the field.
For Molloy, Alexia O'Connor scored 17 points after hitting 5 of 6 from beyond the arc and 6 of 10 from the field.
The win puts Roberts Wesleyan at 11-10 overall and 7-8 in the East Coast Confernce.
They are off until next Sunday when they travel to take on the University of the District of Columbia with tip-off set for 3pm.
