Slippery Rock, Pa. (March 11, 2014) The Women's Lacrosse team took on Slippery Rock University this afternoon in non conference play. The Redhawks took a hard loss 16 -22.

Roberts started off in the lead, just 20 seconds into the first half sophomore standout
Loren Dunn scored the first goal unassisted to put Robert in the lead by one. Slippery Rock answered quickly, Dunn then scored her second goal soon after to bring the score to 2-1. Dunn would go on to end the game with 5 goals and would go a perfect 2-2 on free position shots. Slippery Rock went on a 6-0 run until
Cassley Jackowski broke the
Redhawks drought to bring the score to 7-3. She would go on to score the next 4 goals for Roberts. She was assisted by
Ali Fox and
Meredith smith the half ended 12 – 7.
Jackowski ended the game with a game high of 7 goals; she also put up 2 assists and was 1-1 on free position shots. Fox scored 2 goals and had 1 assist for the Redhawks.
The Redhawks had a competitive second half, but were unable to catch the lead.
Alison Kendall was the first to score for the Redhawks in the second half. This was her only goal; Kendall also won 8 of the 16 draw controls for Roberts. Â
Junior
Savannah Tucker added 1 goal and 1 assists, she also helped Roberts defensively winning 5 ground balls and causing 4 turnovers. Goalie
Victoria Link had 11 saves.

As a team Roberts and Slippery Rock had the same amount of turnovers (17) Â clears (9) Â and were evenly matched in groundballs won (21 -20) The Redhawks allowed 12 free position shots, while only taking 5.
The loss drops Roberts record to 2-5.
The Redhawks look for a win on the road as they take on Bridgeport University in conference action. Â The game is scheduled at Bridgeport Saturday March 15
th at 1:00pm.
