WINONA LAKE, Ind. (March 22, 2014) – The Women's Basketball team ended their NCCAA National Championships appearance with a 67-54 loss to third-seed Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University in the 3rd Place game this morning.

Roberts Wesleyan, the five-seed, played the Cougars tightly until the higher seed began to pull away from the Redhawks mid-way through the second half.

Marissa Sell tied the game at 40-40 with 15:48 remaing by hitting a pair of free-throws, but that was as close as Roberts Wesleyan would get as the Cougars never trailed the rest of the way.

Sell had a productive day as she netted 22 points while earning the double-double after grabbing 10 rebounds, both of which were team-highs.
Chelsea Sanders and Samantha Courtney each added nine points for the Redhawks.

For Azusa Pacific, three players scored in double-digits as Kelly Hardeman scored 13 points and hauled in 11 rebounds.

Roberts Welseyan, which finishes the season with a 15-14 overall record, were held to just 33.9 percent from the field in the game after going just 7 of 33 from the floor in the second half.

For head coach Bob Segave, the 15 wins gives him a career total of 134 wins through eight seasons.
