North Easton, Ma. (September 14, 2014) – The men's soccer team prevailed over Assumption College 1-0 this afternoon in non conference play.
The Redhawks took an early lead with a goal coming from senior defender
Alex Harling. Fellow classmate
Michael Cunningham recorded the assist. The goal coming in the 20
th minute, would be the game winner for Roberts Wesleyan as they would have to defend the lead through the rest of the game.
Assumption and Roberts Wesleyan both took five shots on goal. Keeper
Michael Scavone notched the shut out.
The win in regular time came as a relief for the Redhawks who went into double overtime to land a tie in their last game.
The men's record is now 3-0-2 as they go into conference play this Friday September 19 against University of Bridgeport at Bridgeport.
