Men’s Soccer Shut Out by Dowling

Oakdale N.Y. (September 21, 2014) – The Men's Soccer team lost their first game of the season this afternoon to Dowling College with a final score of 1-0.

The first half ended in a tie at zero. Less than 15 minutes into the second half Dowling would take the opportunity and score with a header off of a cross into the box.

Roberts Wesleyan had a hard time getting past Dowling defense in an offensive effort.   They did have three scoring opportunities in the second half, but with one shot wide, the other two were picked up by Dowling's goalie.

The Redhawks were unable to come up with success in the second half. Throughout the match they only had one corner while Dowling was able to utilize four.

Roberts Wesleyan goalie, Michael Scavone, recorded three saves.

Roberts Wesleyan played an intense game receiving five fouls and two yellow cards.

The loss puts the Redhawks at 4-1-2 and 1-1 in the ECC.

Roberts Wesleyan plays at home this coming Saturday September 27th for homecoming weekend at 3:30pm.
