Box Score ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Sep. 6, 2014) – After playing two overtimes, the Men's Soccer team played to a scoreless draw against Nyack College this afternoon.
Roberts Wesleyan saw their fair share of scoring opportunities, but we unable to capitalize. The home team put up a game-high 25 shots, putting eight on frame. Conversely, the Warriors had just 10 shots while managing to put five shots on goal.
Senior forward
Michael Cunningham gave his team several opportunities as he led the game with four shots on goal and seven shots total.
As the game progress, both goalkeepers made several key saves. In the second overtime session,
Michael Scavone made a spectacular save in the waning moments by guiding a Nyack shot over the crossbar to ensure the shutout.
Both teams also picked up several yellow cards with Nyack accumulating four as the Redhawks earned three.
The tie puts Roberts Wesleyan's record at 1-0-1 as they now prepare for a lengthy road trip that begins with at Pitt-Johnstown this coming Tuesday. The team won't be home until Homecoming, which is Saturday, Sep. 27.
