Men’s Soccer Score in Each Half but Fall Short of Victory

Location: RWC Stadium – Rochester, N.Y.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Roberts Wesleyan's men's soccer found the back of the net with a goal in each half but fell short of victory to Stonehill. The goals from Malcolm Shaw and Will Cornfield came in the 30th and 87th minutes respectively.

Stonehill challenged the Redhawk defense with five of their six shots on frame in the match. Similarly, while on offense the Redhawks found a way to test Stonehill with three shots on frame.

Turning Point
After trailing early in the game, Shaw would cease the scoring surge that Stonehill wished to continue by scoring his second goal of the season. With Cornfield scoring the Redhawks had hope to continue the game into overtime.

Individual Leaders
- Sam Moody would also put a shot on frame for the Redhawks in the 53rd minute.
- Goalkeeper John Ciavaglia played in his first game of the season for the Redhawks, picking up two saves in the game.

Inside the Box Score
- The Redhawks would record four yellow cards in the game going to Moody, Jake Zito, Michael McGinnis, and Logan Wood.
- Cedarville's Craig Moreau and Drew Montano would each only take one shot resulting in a goal for the visiting Skyhawks.

News & Notes
- This match marks the second time Roberts Wesleyan plays Stonehill; the first match resulting in a draw.
- With Cornfield's goal he has now scored twice in three games while coming off of the bench.
