DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – After falling into an early 2-0 deficit, the Roberts Wesleyan men's soccer were handed their first conference loss of the season by Mercy.
 
The Mavericks shot out to a quick lead after Junior Sanguina scored just 15 seconds into the game before Romello Fraser tacked on the second goal just nine minutes later.
 
Nearly a half-hour later, the Redhawks responded when 
Garth Brungard netted his fourth goal of the season to go into halftime down 2-1.
 
Malcolm Shaw got the equalizer in the 67
th minute, but Mercy picked up the game-winner with eight minutes remaining.

nd minute, which was headed home off a corner kick.
Individual Leaders- Shaw and Brungard each tallied goals in the loss.

Logan Wood and Daniel Maxwell each notched assists, both crosses from the outside into the area.Inside the Box Score- For the first time in conference play, Roberts Wesleyan outshot their opponent, however Mercy placed eight shots on goal compared to just four from the Redhawks.
- Roberts Wesleyan held the advantage in corner kicks, 5 to 4.
News & Notes- The loss was the first in conference action for Roberts Wesleyan.
- Brungard now leads the Redhawks with his 10 points (4 goals, 2 assists).
- Despite only placing four shots on goal, the Redhawks hold a .505 shots on goal percentage while holding their opponents to .476 percent.
