Game Recap: Women's Basketball |

Women's Basketball Sets Record in Win Over Felician

Rochester, N.Y. – It was raining threes in the Voller Athletic Center on Saturday evening as the Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team set the all-time single game three-point record in program history with 17 en route to a 95-58 victory over Felician University. Junior forward Asia Dingle hit the record breaking three with seven minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Redhawks surpassed the previous single game three point record that was set last season on March 10 against Oakland City University in the NCCAA Midwest Regional. The record then was 16 made shots from beyond the arc.

Leading the charge for the new program record was freshman guard Sara Nady who was 6-of-7 from long range with 20 points in the game. Junior guard Brooke Fields also had 20 points along with four assists and four steals to pace the red and black.

The Redhawks broke the game open from the tip scoring 20 straight points without giving up a single point to the Golden Falcons. And at the conclusion of the first quarter Roberts Wesleyan was holding on to a 30 point lead, 34-4.

While long range shots were draining for the Redhawks it was not just the offense finding success. Defensively Roberts forced 17 first half turnovers to hold Felician to just 16 points giving the Redhawks a demanding 52-16 lead at the half.

The hot shooting from long range continued in the second half for the defending NCCAA National Champions as they connected on 7-of-15 from deep range.

Felician was able to find some rhythm on offense in the second half scoring 42 points compared to Robert's 43, but it was far too late with too much of a deficit to make up as the Redhawks eased on to 95-58 win.

Roberts Wesleyan has now started the season with two straight wins with over 90 points scored in each game. The team will head to Flushing, N.Y. on Wednesday to open its East Coast Conference action in a pivotal early season contest against No. 20 Queens (N.Y.) College.
