Rochester, N.Y. – Four players scored in double digits for the Roberts Wesleyan women's basketball team as they defeated East Coast Conference foe Molloy on Saturday afternoon, 84-64.

Freshman
Taya Andrews led the team with 19 points.
Taylor Bynoe was one rebound shy of a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds while coming off the bench. Also scoring in double digits was
Lucy Covley with 15 and
Sara Nady with 11 points.

"It was a full team effort," head coach
Gary Andrews said. "Everyone contributed today to help us get the win against a good Molloy team."

With leading scorer
Brooke Fields missing the game due to an injury the Redhawks needed each player to step up and fill their role on offense. As a team, Roberts shot the ball well, going 32-of-62 (51.6%) from the field and 13-of-30 (43.3%) from beyond the arc. They also continued to shoot free throws effectively going seven for seven in the game.

The Redhawks dominated the first quarter limiting Molloy to just ten points. Bynoe's last second layup in the quarter made the score 25-10 after one.

The Lions held tough in the second quarter and fought off the large deficit narrowing the lead to three with just under four minutes remaining in the half. But a made shot by Nady followed by a three-pointer by Covley near the end of the period extended the lead to nine for Roberts Wesleyan. The score at the break was 43-34 in favor of Roberts.

The Redhawks outscored the Lions in both second half quarters to hold the lead and secure the 20-point victory.

Guard
Necedah James had four steals in the match which helped set the defensive tone for Roberts Wesleyan. James also added eight points and four assists.

Roberts (7-4, 2-2 ECC) is back in action on Sunday, December 18 at 3 p.m. when they host Saint Anselm College. Before the women's game begins former women's basketball player
Samantha Courtney ('16) will be inducted into the Wendy's College Classic Hall of Fame.
